Born in 1933 in Kaubath (Stiria-Austria), from the Rom ethnic group, during the Nazi Regime she was deported at Auschwitz, Ravensbruck and Bergen Belsen. She was one of the few Rom that survived the concentration camps. After returning to Vienna she worked as a street seller in markets. Today she writes books and poems, she sings and paints and she travels the world taking about her experience.
