He worked as an auditor in Suleimaniah. 

He co-founded the Kurdistan Islamic Movement and currently he is Secretary of the party's political bureau.

In October 2009, he was appointed Minister of Endowment & Religious Affairs in the sixth KRG cabinet, following the July 2009 Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections.
