President of the French Republic
Emmanuel MACRON is the eighth President of the French Fifth Republic.
Founder of the 'En Marche!' movement, created on 6 April 2016, he led it until his first victory in the presidential election on 7 May 2017.
On 24 April 2022, Emmanuel MACRON was re-elected President of the Republic.
Born in December 1977 in Amiens, in the Somme, Emmanuel MACRON studied philosophy before entering the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA), where he graduated in 2004.
Emmanuel MACRON then joined the Inspection Générale des Finances (IGF) where he worked for four years before joining the banking sector.
In 2012, he became Deputy Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic. He left the post in July 2014 before becoming Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs from August 2014 to August 2016.
