Lucia Goracci was the correspondent and head of RAI in Istanbul. She is currently a correspondent in New York.

 

She has followed the main Middle Eastern wars and, living from different fronts, witnessed many bloody battles.

 

In the aftermath of the thwarted coup in Turkey, she carried out one of the few international - and Italian exclusive - interviews with Turkish President Erdogan.

 

Her activity as a war correspondent earned her several awards, including the Alpi, Barzini, Cutuli, Luchetta, Biagio Agnes, Premiolino and Colombe d'Oro per la Pace (Golden Dove for Peace) awards.
