He writes for "La Stampa" newspaper since 1980. As special correspondent, he described the political and social life of countries at war such as Sudan, Darfur, the Horn of Africa, Uganda, Mali, Somalia. He followed the events of "Arab springs" and the tumultuous changes of Libya after Gheddafi.
In April 2013, he was kidnapped in Syria and released after 5 months of hard imprisonment. He keeps on following with great passion the drama of this long war that continues to shed blood in Syria and the other countries of the region.
