One month before the Pope's visit for the opening of the Sagrada Familia a top level delegation of the Moscow Patriarchate will be present in Barcelona, during the meeting to "Living together in a time of crisis. Family of peoples, family of God" organized by the Community of Sant'Egidio and the local Archdiocese.
The presence of the delegation, composed by Metropolitan Hilarion, Chairman of the Department of External Relationship of the Patriarchate of Moscow, and by Metropolitan Filaret, Exarch of Belarus, is an important signal of the attention with which the Church led by the Patriarch of Moscow Kirill looks at the dialogue among Christians and especially at the one with Rome.
Metropolitan Hilarion, who now plays the role that the Patriarch Kirill played, will attend a conference entitled "The urgence of unity among Christians". On the same days nine cardinals and representatives of 11 Orthodox Churches will take part in the Meeting, as well as representatives of the Reformed churches as Ishmael Noko, Secretary General of the Lutheran World Federation, and John Charles Allanson Barrett, President of the World Methodist Council.
